Intangible heritage

The most attractive tourist attraction in Lithuania in 2008. Intangible heritage

Celebrating is in the Lithuanian blood. Centuries have passed and are celebrated the way the great-grandparents did. Old traditions, albeit enriched with modern elements, are alive as people sing the same songs, play games, eat the same meals – even the art forms change little. In the summer, they jump over bonfires to pass the night, while at the end of winter, armed with masks, songs and bonfires, they chase winter off with Lašininis and Kanapinis.
