Rokišķu muiža – Lietuvas arhitektūras evolūcijas seja

Pievilcīgākais Lietuvas kultūras tūrisma mērķis 2011. gadā

If we stop at the central square of Rokiškis and look around, we will see one of the most prominent neo-Gothic works of the historic period, the St Apostle Evangelist Church. In another area, tree tops reveal a real gem of architecture – Rokiškis Manor. Sixteen authentic manor buildings and a huge park with ponds reflect the evolution of Lithuanian architectural styles from Baroque, Classicism to the recognisable forms of modernist architecture in the palace interior. Folk elements of stone masonry are intertwined here with details of classicism style. Inside the manor house is Rokiškis Regional Museum, where you can get acquainted with the culture and history of the manor. It hosts art exhibitions, conferences, concerts, literary evenings and classes where travellers learn to weave bands, make brass jewellery and create pottery. Here you can also taste top-class cuisine and learn how the people of Rokiškis make cheese.
